Studio

Simplicity is the craft.

Not the shortcut, not the style — the work itself.

Every margin. Every typographic decision. Every choice to remove rather than add. That's the practice of editorial design done well, and it's the only kind we do.

The Studio

undo designs is a boutique editorial design studio working on cookbooks, manuals and annual reports — documents that have to work before they can impress.

We are not a large agency. We don't operate like one. We work closely with a small number of clients at a time, which means the work gets the attention it needs and the people commissioning it know exactly where it stands.

The name is deliberate. Undo is how every good design begins — stripping back assumption, habit and accumulated noise until what remains is exactly what's needed. Nothing more. It's not a philosophy we arrived at. It's the description of how we've always worked.

What We Believe

Good editorial design is defined by its absence. When it's working, the reader doesn't see it — they see only the content it was built to serve. That invisibility is the goal. It takes longer to achieve than the alternative, and it's worth it.

We don't impose personality on a page. We find the clearest path through it.
