How we work is as considered as what we produce.

Every project begins with a conversation, not a brief template. We want to understand the document — who uses it, how they use it, what gets in the way. The more we understand the problem, the less we impose on the solution.
We ask a lot of questions before we draw a single grid.

Before type, before colour, before anything visible — structure. Information architecture, hierarchy, the logic of how a reader will move through the material. This is where most editorial problems are solved, and where most editorial mistakes are made.
We spend longer here than clients expect. That's the point.

Layout decisions made with reason, not habit. Typography chosen for the reader, not the portfolio. Restraint applied not as a style choice but as a discipline — every element on a page earns its place or it doesn't stay.
We work iteratively, in close conversation with the people who know the content best.
Simplicity in type.

Most of the work happens here. The difference between a layout that functions and one that disappears into the reading experience is usually invisible — a margin adjusted, a leading corrected, a hierarchy clarified by a single weight change.
We don't present and walk away. We stay until it's right.

Print-ready. Production-annotated. Documented for whoever touches the file next. We hand over work that is complete, not almost complete — files that a printer, a publisher or an in-house team can use without a conversation to explain them.
